How can I test the 12V power connector on my motherboard?
The 4-pin ATX 12V power cable leading to my mother still does not read any tension when I tried and I tried every combination of switching the multimeter leads to different pins. When the two ends of the multimeter were in the connector and played it caused but not yet reading. I am sure I have the right settings and the right leads in the right slots on the multimeter. Is this vital power connection and if so what am I doing wrong?
Switching supplies are funny birds. Do not put out voltage until something draws power from them. When shorted wires, which immediately caught and brought current.
