Windows XP Home Edition and Windows XP at retail, what is the difference?
My friend has a laptop and needs 2 windows of his album, which she can not find. I said he could borrow my windows disk, but would need 2 put in your own validation code, etc. In any case, the only problem we have now is that in the back of your laptop when the code is saying that Windows XP retail??? Where mine says Windows XP Home Edition. Does anyone know what it is and if there is a difference between xp and if I could still use my CD, but with your password? I never want to install the windows only to find half road or something and then we can not run out of windows! Can anyone help please? I really appreciate it:) Thank you:)
No no difference unless I had XP Pro on your laptop, then it would be a problem. Probably, says retail, since we are not an OEM version of Windows, it's a little strange, because of cheaper and could have done more of a benefit.
